Tesoro offers a truly unique experience, an art lovers dream, nothing can prepare you for the exquisite murals that greet you! This beautifully curated, harmonious space also boasts a lovely internal facing terrace. The Tesoro apartment is a treasure of art and harmony in the historic center of Florence.

Location

The Santa Croce neighborhood is one of the most fascinating and historic in the center of Florence. Piazza Santa Croce is traffic free and hosts events of every kind, including the famous Calcio in Costume (soccer as it was played in ancient times - in medieval costumes). Surrounded by history, the neighborhood has many restaurants and markets.

Exterior

Located between Piazza Santa Croce and the river, this Renaissance palazzo is built in the style typical of the period. Grey pietra serena (serene stone) outlines the geometry of the facade. The building is beautifully maintained; it is clean and quiet.

Interior

Glowing with radiantly colored 15th century frescoes, the entry transports you into another time. You can enjoy these beautifully preserved murals up close from an antique settee. The artist in our family examined them with delight.

The spacious living room has a 20th century flair with a sofa, side chairs, chaise longue, a handsome antique sideboard, fireplace and many pieces of art. The exceptional aesthetics of the apartment evidence harmony and a spirit of beauty that can be appreciated at every turn. The fireplace is non-working.

A dining table seats four. You can also choose to dine on the terrace, a particular joy during warm weather. The terrace has a wrought iron table and chairs for four. It is right off the large kitchen where there is another table for casual meals. The kitchen is thoroughly modern and offers artistic elements to enjoy.

The terrace and living room overlook the inside of the block with its secluded gardens.

The study is another treasure with every wall and the ceiling covered with 18th century frescoes. Their beautiful clouds and cupids contrast with the vivid colors and themes of the entry frescoes. A leather sofa converts to a wide single bed. A flat-screen television receives local channels, a DVD player, and a stereo.

Tranquility infuses the bedroom with its warm yellow-gold walls and polished wood throughout. The decorating language is Japanese. A glass walled room forms a temple to the bath.

A sofa and large lounging pillows invite you to recharge in this magical room. The room faces the internal, quiet courtyard.

A wonderful place to stay in Florence. Close to the center of the city, the apartment has historic features, a great kitchen, a delightful terrace to dine on, great art (some by the owner), and overall is very whimsical, and very romantic. You will love it!

Beautiful and great location !!!

by Gary and Donna H

The Tesaro apartment is even better in person than it looks in photo's if you can believe that! The apartment is very spacious and we loved sitting on the terrace to have coffee in the morning. The location is really great -- on a quite side street yet very close to everything. Very quick walk to the various sites and a number of good restaurants within a few minutes walk.

My husband and I were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and explore Florence. We had a wonderful time and loved the location of this property! You could easily walk to all of the attractions in Florence and there were fantastic restaurants close by. We would highly recommend this property and plan to return here on our next visit!

Beautiful Apartment and Host

by Maria and Frank

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in this Florence apartment. The pictures don't do it justice. The frescoes were incredible!! We loved the location...walkable to everything. Our host, was gracious and provided us with some fantastic restaurant recommendations. We were actually able to get into a 3 Michelin star restaurant called Enoteca Pinchiorri. Absolutely fabulous! Coming from NYC, it was a treat. As always, our experiences with the "Perfect" family have been wonderful with great apartments and service. If you are looking for a magical and historic Florence place, Tesoro is it!!

All the glowing reviews are right on target. The apartment is elegantly furnished yet comfortable and blissfully quiet. I loved living among the frescoes and the soaring ceilings made me feel like the place was my private palazzo. The location can’t be beat — all the museums and sights are a 20 minute walk away, if that. We found the local Corad to stock pretty much everything we needed. The wonderful Osteria dei Benci, just two doors down the street was our favorite casual restaurant and we ended up eating there four times during our week there. Go for the daily specials! Elisabetta was available to greet us, show us around and demonstrate how machines worked. She had kindly set us up with breakfast fixings. We found ourselves locked out one afternoon and she graciously came to let us in within the hour.Staying in this apartment made our Florence trip experience exceptional.[Thank you for your great review! From the beginning discussions with Pat, to meeting Elizabetta our greeter, we were treated first class and with the warmest of welcomes. The villa is even more charming in person with every amenity you could imagine. Grocery store, restaurants, wine bars, gelato, shopping, museums, and friendly people are steps from the front door. Don't forget to visit Flor on the street as it fills the air with homemade perfumes that will blow your mind. We have traveled to many places around the world, and this is up there as being one of the greatest experiences we've ever had. We highly recommend contacting Pat and her team to make your experience above the ordinary. Without question we are referring our family members and close friends, and we also plan to return one day in the near future.

First, we would certainly recommend Italy, Paris and London Perfect for any travelers. We have used all three and your services are the best. The specific apartment we rented in San Croce in Florence was spectacular. The location was perfect - San Croce is full of great restaurants, sights and shops to visit and a GREAT walking neighborhood as is the entire city. The apartment is large, in a 500+ year old building with beautiful frescos covering many of the walls that go back hundreds of years. Our greeter, the apartment's owner was also very gracious and hospitable and make arrangements for our late arrival. I would strongly recommend the apartment, the neighborhood and Florence.[Thank you Jim and Peggy, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]

We rented the Tesoro apartment for a week, and it was exceptional. About 90 minutes after I inquired about the apartment, I got a response from Pat at Italy Perfect, confirming availability. Within 24 hrs Pat had all the information and paperwork sent to me.Between the time we booked the apartment and our departure, Pat was in touch to explain the check in procedure, sent links to helpful websites (trains, museums, etc.) Italy Perfect also sends along other helpful information (like using phones in Italy.) The apartment itself is wonderful, beautifully kept and decorated, and quite well equipped (I wasn't expecting a blender!) To top it off, it's right around the corner from the Piazza Santa Croce, and easy walking distance to all the main sights in Florence, even the Oltrarno area across the Arno River. The only time we took taxis were to/from the airport or train station. The neighborhood is lively during the day, but quiets down in the evening. Nevertheless, the apartment was always quiet, with the exception of the occasional church bell, which was charming! There is a small but well stocked grocery store around the corner, a farmers market, many restaurants in the area. Because the apartment is so centrally located, it was easy to spend time at a museum, stop for a gelato, then walk a short distance to the apartment to recharge before dinner or another adventure. We'll definitely be back! [Thank you Kimberley, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]

the apartment was beautiful. location was fabulous. we reccommend gelateria dei neri which is close by. thank you for recommending veronica for the tours. she was fabulous. the electricity bill (70 euros) was a bit of a shock considering we ran one air conditioner only at night and turned everything off during the day. it might be better to give an anticipated cost. wifi was extremely poor, a problem when traveling with teenagers. [Happy you enjoyed the apartment & location too. During the peak summer period when temperatures are in the 90's to 100's utility usage can be expensive. For these guests it was an additional €10/day when Florence was at its hottest. A/C running all evening & thought the night plus other utility usage (washer, water heater, lights, fans) adds up.. The WiFi is fine for email, not good for watching videos on online gaming. The Italy Perfect Team]

I heartily agree with all of the superlative reviews of the Tesoro apartment. The only thing I can add is that I had the most restful nights there, with vivid and beautiful dreams. I awoke each morning smiling and delighted. It is a wonderful home, and I felt so happy to "live" there for two weeks. It is the perfect place to stay in Florence, close enough to walk everywhere, but in a secret and silent courtyard. The hostess was incredibly generous with her time and her treasure. The Tesoro is so beautiful-just amazing! Elizabetta, our greeter was very accommodating. Our plane arrived early and she was happy to meet us at our convenience. The accommodations were done with very discerning taste. The furnishings alone were worth a fortune, the artwork is everywhere and much of it original, but the frescoes were indescribable. I thought I would arrive and be disappointed in their authenticity, quite the contrary. They are truly amazing. Other than that, the appointments were perfect. We had everything we needed and more. The apartment was large (even by American standards) and fully equipped with a well working AC (temps were over 100F). The location was very convenient to all of the florentine attractions. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. [Thank you so much for your review. This apartment is special, isn't it? The Italy Perfect Team]

Having traveled to many cities and staying in apartments, I would have to say that Tessoro was by far one of the nicest and most comfortable flats. The location is really great for all walking tours in Florence. It's located in a courtyard building so you hear absolutely no street noise at all - only the bells from Santa Croce if your balcony doors are open. The balcony is a very nice touch - you can have your morning coffee overlooking a hidden garden while you are really in the city center. We loved our stay in Florence at Tessoro and would definitely stay there again. The amenities are great - fully applianced kitchen, washing machine, two full bathrooms and AC. We hired the guide recommended by Pat and did two days if walking tours. He was fantastic and we saw many different things. My 18 year old son attended a local sports event and really had fun. We could not have been any more pleased (is thrilled to strong) with our amazing apartment in the heart of Santa Croce Florence! It was beautiful. Also comfortable and welcoming. The surroundings were lovely and we felt a part of the neighborhood. Quiet and safe. Our greeter could not have done more for us! Walked us to the grocery store and pointed out sites to visit. We were steps from the Santa Croce Piazza and the Arno River where we found excellent restaurants. Make a dinner reservation at Ristorante del Fagioli! The wait staff will guide you through a meal of wonderful steak, bread soups and pasta. Cappuccino and Gelato - say no more. Shopping - we were steps from small shops with fair prices on leather goods and other souvenirs. Visited the Italian Leather School (prices are very high but the quality is outstanding.) which is behind the Santa Croce Church. The school is free but is also part of the church tour. We were only a few blocks to the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia. The tour books are right; make reservations! Walk or take a city bus to any of the most congested areas of Florence then return home to peace and quiet! Take a city bus to Fiesole in the hills overlooking Florence. It's quite a hike up to the church but the view is spectacular. Also on the city bus line is a stop across the river on Viale Michelangelo for more great views of the city. We made a day trip by train to Pisa, visited the coastal town of Viaggio and then a final stop in Lucca and after a long day back to peace and quiet. What a wonderful experience and Italy Perfect is just that - Perfect. They gave us excellent guidance and provided valuable information before our trip on the "do's" and "don'ts". Follow their advise and you'll have an exceptional experience. We will definitely recommend Italy Perfect and use them again. Ciao e viaggi sicuri!

Our stay in Florence was definitely enhanced by our beautiful apartment rented from Italy Perfect Tesoro. The apartment had a beautiful terrace looking out on a lovely garden. The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathtub was wonderful, and the two bathrooms were another plus. The bed was spacious (king-sized) and comfortable with a wonderful overhead fan. Our host was helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. The location of the apartment was perfect, and we easily walked everywhere. I have no complaints at all. Pat, at Italy Perfect, was helpful in providing instructions and answering my emails. I would recommend both Italy Perfect and Tesoro to all of my friends and relatives. Thank you so much.

Staying in Tesoro apartment was disappointing. Without wanting to be rude as this is clearly someone's home, it was not really suitable as a holiday rental. It was quite dark and poorly furnished and nowhere really relaxing to sit. The room where the TV was positioned was very uncomfortable. Bathrooms were fine although the bed, being on a platform, was strange if you got up and forgot. The frescoes were interesting. The surrounding streets were barricaded off during part of our stay due to the calcio storica being held, it would have been helpful to be aware of this as we did have some problems getting thoroughness e evenings. We are sorry that this guest was disappointed. We have represented this apartment for nearly 10 years. It is furnished and decorated as a Florentine home to reflect the art and interest of the city, but no one lives in it other than vacationers. Although it has a unique and personal feel, it is not someone's home. The furnishings are as depicted in the photos and video. We are sorry this guest did not find the furniture comfortable and overlooked the information in the description that describes it as a platform bed and as shown in both the photo tour & video. We will make a note to remind future guests about the historic soccer (calcio storico) held on 3 weekends in nearby Piazza Santa Croce every June.

We were very pleased with the apartment. It was the perfect location - near to a lot of sights, shops, and the Arno - but on a side street that was very quiet. The interior courtyard view and the terrace were a big plus. And the frescoes were a treat too. A well-equipped kitchen and lots of towels and blankets were available. Elisabetta took us on a little walk the first day and showed us a good cafe and how to get to the supermarket - very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you so much for your review. My wife and I spent 5 days at "Tesoro" on Borgo Sante Croche in Florence. For those in search of a Florentine apartment experience set in a well located 700 year old former palace complete with some interesting frescos, 15' ceilings, and a quiet charming terrace, you will want to check this Vrbo out (Through Italyperfect.com). Fear not the place has been updated this century and features all the modern amenities including 5mbps Wi-Fi and a flat screen (so at least you'll have that on the Medicis). The pictures are accurate and the place is indeed lovely. The street is as old as Florence and sits just off the Piazza di Sante Croche plaza, conveniently adjacent to a tourist office which cheerfully served as our concierge. Less than a 10 minute walk to the center of old town.Based on the "gelato index" we derived (cost for the ubiquitous ice cream cone) the nearby stores are about half the price of the more neuvo/upscale west side. Plenty of small restaurants and amenities within a block or two. If there was a downside it could only be all the study abroad students that domicile nearby and seem to flock to nearby bars, though they never bothered us.The apartment is large by Florentine standards and works best as a one bedroom. The den can be made up for a second BR and includes a second full bath and comfortable bed (I know that because my wife slept there one night; don't ask). The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of utensils, plates, glasses, microwave, corkscrews, etc. Beautiful LR with Wbfp so probably cozy in the cold seasons. The master BR king bed is kind of odd, though maybe I'm just not European enough. Anyway, watch your step. Nice large master bath with smoked mirrors. Tesoro is one spiral flight up or via a small elevator, that we avoided.All-in a great stop for us and a rental that we will inquire about next time we are in Florence.

The Tesoro is a spacious, nicely furnished apartment right off the Piazza Santa Crocce, a charming, well-located piazza. The apartment's terrace and living room overlook a quiet, interior, garden courtyard, and windows from the other rooms overlook interior sun/air wells which are very sleek and clean and devoid of anything unsightly. The building is well maintained and, best of all, very clean and quiet. Our greeter was prompt, personable and efficient and was able to get our air conditioning fixed right away, which brings me to my next thought. The downsides to apartment life in Italy are that one has to be so careful of power usage. We blew a fuse our first night, running the hairdryer while the two air conditioners were on. One never has to worry about those things in hotels, with their large power supplies. We did miss a concierge on premises too, but we grew accustomed to fending for ourselves. The only negative to the Tesoro was the permanent odor of cigarette smoke, which aggravated my allergies. However, the upsides of being in an apartment are considerable. After being in hotels for nearly two weeks prior, it was wonderful to have several spacious, nicely furnished rooms to relax in. The Tesoro also has 2-1/2 bathrooms, a very nice feature, and a nice kitchen. While we never cooked a meal in the apartment, it was nice to be able to have light snacks and meals which we brought in and not have to take all our meals in restaurants. All in all, I would recommend this apartment and Italy Perfect, which I found to be a reputable and responsive company. It goes to great lengths to provide renters with thorough information to ensure a positive experience.

This is the second year we spent two weeks in Santa Croce, and this is the apartment we will return to in the future. The neighborhood is perfect, very close to all the tourist sites in Florence, but on the edge of them. Convenient five or ten minute walk to the San Ambrosio Market, Teatro del Sale, Cafe Cibreo, ZEB, and many other excellent restaurants in Santa Croce and Oltrarno. Five or ten minutes to the Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, etc. And of course the Santa Croce church is right around the corner. Florence is a walking city, but there are also three bus stops within two minutes of the apartment, and it's very easy to find your way on the buses with Google Maps on your phone. This is not a bland rental apartment, it feels like someone's home, and is very comfortable, attractively and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The living room is a delightful place to sit and read, relax and dine. The full kitchen had everything we needed to cook the lovely things we bought at the market. The terrace overlooks a delightful well planted shared inner courtyard with roses, hydrangea, and so on. The bedroom was suitably dark (with the curtains drawn), quiet and comfortable. It's an apartment we'd be happy to live in. This was our first time using Italy Perfect and it was smooth and efficient, we will use them again for this apartment and in other cities as well.

We absolutely loved the Tesoro apartment. It's in a phenomenal location and the pictures don't do it justice. What an amazing property - we would highly recommend it.

Tesoro is the most amazing apartment we have stayed in. One block from Santa Croce, great neighborhood. The place is AMAZING - you walk into a hallway with frescoes and the whole home is tastefully and gracefully decorated with art treasures. It is well worth the price. The home is large - lots of rooms, and even a loft in the bedroom. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The bedroom has a large comfy bed with walk in bathrooms (with long tub to soak in!) right next to it. Terrace is so relaxing and quiet - just what you need as a respite from busy Florence. Our greeter was amazing - she knows Florence as she wrote guides to it and gave us many helpful recommendations. We can't wait to go back!

The pictures don't do justice to this amazing apartment. The frescoes on the walls reminded us that we were in the heart of Florence. The location was relatively quiet and the patio on the courtyard provided for a glimpse into the lives of ordinary Florencians. The rooms were large and cozy. We cooked most of our meals here. The kitchen was well appointed with both cooking utensils and ordinary spices. The bed in the master bedroom was larger than most Italian doubles. We loved the location as it was on a quiet street that was literally only a block away from the heart of old FLorence. It was a five minute walk to local grocers and a ten minute walk to several of the most amazing Piazza's in Florence. Our host was a talented artist herself and was very attentive to our needs.

We had a wonderful stay at this terrific apartment. The decor is lovely,s tarting with the marvelous frescoes as you enter the apartment. The apartment is quiet, spacious and very clean. The pretty terrace looks out over a lovely inner courtyard and we had many wonderful meals there contemplating the day's events. The location is well situated near the river and all of the major sites. There are numerous good restaurants, gelaterias and shops within minutes from your doorstep. Elisabetta greeted us at the apartment upon our arrival and was wonderful! The service provided by Italy Perfect was always prompt, courteous and efficient, making our stay in Florence all the more memorable. I would highly recommend Italy Perfect to anyone planning a trip to Italy.

Tesoro was amazing!!!!The apt was perfect!Beautiful, comfortable and in an incredible location. It is very beautifully decorated and frescos!!! The apt was extremely quiet and private and looks into gardens - not on the street. Steps away from Santa Croce! The apt made our trip very special. We never got on a bus or a taxi - we walked everywhere because the location was so perfect. There is a very good Lebanese restaurant in the same block as the apt. We have already recommended the apt and Italy Perfect to friends.Pat helped us so much with the apt and planning our trip. She was wonderful. We stayed in the apt and we joined the "friends of the Uffizi" which allowed us to go in a long list of churches and museums(including the Academia!) for free and we did not have to wait in lines. That was great deal!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Florence in September/October staying at the lovely Tesoro apartment. It is wonderfully central and the apartment, itself, with all the frescos was charming. Everything worked well except the T.V. - which didn't receive any foreign news channels (which we missed). The microwave couldn't be made to work, - and the instruction book is lost, according to Elisabetta.  Apart from two relatively minor problems, we really loved the apartment and the area.  We wouldn't hesitate to recommend 'Italy Perfect' to our friends. Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased you enjoyed the beautiful features of the Tesoro apartment. The microwave has been fixed and works now. It is true that for now the TV receives only local channels. Lisa Italy Perfect

Tesoro was everything advertised and more. The pictures do not compare to the real thing. There is plenty of room and the terace is great for breakfast and dinner. Tesoro is located steps from Santa Croce and the tourist information office is next door! It is a leisurely twenty minute walk to the railroad station. On that walk you pass all the main sites in Florence. Santa Croce piazza is where hundreds of people gather in the evening to socialize and eat their gelatto. Any restaurant we ate in was good, but with Tesoro and all the food markets available we cooked in most nights. "A little pasta, some fruit, cheese, bread and wine." Tesoro and Florence were a perfect Italian vacation.

The accommodations were superior - the apartment a total surprise - beautifully decorated - conveniently located in the heart of Santa Croce - yet a peaceful, and most importantly, quiet haven after a day of sightseeing. Viewing the art was, of course, stunning, but so was the food. Would heartily recommend this heavenly oasis to anyone. Italy Perfect did a masterful job of providing information to make the stay in a foreign country easier.

My wife Katie and I had the good fortune to stay at the Tesoro apartment, Santa Croce, Florence. We would both like to extend our thanks to you and your staff on making this our first trip to Italy so memorable. The apartment was everything and more that the photographs promised it would be and we cannot recommend it highly enough to anybody who might be considering a similar trip. In particular we would like to express our thanks to Elisabetta who went out of her way to assist us on our arrival.

We had a wonderful time on our recent trip to Florence.  The apartment (Tesoro) was great…no complaints.  There were three of us, so it was very spacious.  We loved having breakfast or a snack on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the courtyard and garden (we were blessed with fantastic weather, so we were able to take advantage of this outdoor space)…listening to the birds, and the sounds of the neighborhood.  The best thing about the apartment, in our opinion, is the location.  It is situated in a location that is within walking distance to so many sights and attractions.  If you like to walk, you can get anywhere in Florence from this location.  Also, the apartment’s owner was very gracious, warm and friendly when we met her upon our arrival and the day of our departure. We found it very easy to find our way around the city, and were able to locate convenience/grocery stores, and great restaurants in the area.  We tried to avoid anything that looked “touristy”, and that formula usually resulted in some great, authentic food with friendly service. Florence is a city that everyone should visit! We loved the Tesoro apartment. It is big, beautiful and located in the perfect place. The Piazza Santa Croce is right out the door and it is central to everything. We walked everywhere. We especially enjoyed the welcome "treats" and having all of the books on Florence and Italy to read and reference.

The apartment was very large and very nice. The Frescos on the wall were lovely. Our host was not available on the day we arrived so she sent a friend over until she could get there the next day. He did not fully explain how to operate everything and it wasn't until the next day when our host got there that we were able to operate all appliances. The location was WONDERFUL! Our only problem: When we entered the apartment, it was aparent that someone/many people had been smoking in that apartment. I'm sure it is a no smoking apartment and if one smoked you should have used the little balcony. However the smell was awful until we could get the windows open...every single time we came in the apartment. The smell went away eventually only to be battled the next time we closed all the windows and came back later. The apartment could also have used more lighting..it was quite dark in there at night..made reading difficult. Having said that...there were plenty of towels, the apartment was well stocked and TWO bathrooms was wonderful! [We are delighted to hear that the Davis' enjoyed the apartment and location but sorry to hear about the smoke smell. We assume that perhaps previous guests might have ignored the no-smoking policy which is hard to enforce if guests are not considerate. We will ask the owner to review the lighting and supplement it as needed. Lisa Italy Perfect]

The Tesoro apartment in Florence was more than we imagined. We fell in love with it within the first day. It was beautifully appointed, very clean, organized, and well maintained. The location was wonderful. Close enough to heavy tourist areas but tucked away so that we had a private oasis. Also, our hostess, Elizabetta, was extremely kind and thoughtful, leaving us coffee, wine, snacks and other goodies in the kitchen. We rented from three different companies on our three-city tour, and in hindsight I wish we'd rented them all from Italy Perfect. The level of service was excellent overall.

The apartment was stunningly beautiful and we showed it to all our fellow students [guest was taking a 3-week art class in Florence] who were so impressed with standard of artistic decoration as well as the level of comfort and the convenience of it. When I return to Florence with my husband I will certainly be asking you if I may book it again.

Local Sights

Piazza Santa Croce (1 mins Walking)
Grand piazza of Florence, largest in the center. Fine historic palaces and reigned over by the brooding statue of Dante Alighieri. The cathedral is the temple to the "gods" of Italy including Michelangelo, Rossini, Machiavelli, Galileo and more. Location of events including Calcio Storico "the most brutal sport".
Ponte Vecchio (5 mins Walking)
Awesome ancient bridge over Florence's Arno river that has survived 800 years. Famous for the shops of goldsmiths along its length.
Uffizi Gallery (5 mins Walking)
One of the greatest museums in the world. The defining collection of Renaissance art. A tour is recommended.
Accademia (10 mins Walking)
Home of the original David by Michelangelo, his dramatic Bound Slaves and a very nice museum.
Duomo (10 mins Walking)
Florence's famous and glorious cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore, beautiful to gaze at since the 1300s. Don't miss and, if you can, read about -- then visit the amazing dome by Brunelleschi erected without scaffolding!
Piazza della Repubblica (10 mins Walking)
A great piazza of Florence. The shape reflects its role as the forum in Roman times. Now it has fine palaces and a triumphal arch and colonnaded sidewalks. You will see street artists, impromptu musical performances and a colorful merry-go-round. Glitterati in the fancy cafes.
