A large and gracious Tuscan villa with all the amenities including a swimming pool and air conditioning. The property is easy to reach on paved roads and is close to the charming town of Montecatini Terme. It overlooks rolling hills of olive groves and woods pf chestnuts and oaks.


For larger groups it can be rented together with the neighboring villa, Regina Alta.


Location

Within a few minutes drive are Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme. Terme means "baths" in Italian as the area is famous as a retreat for Italians through the ages for the many natural thermal spas, the waters of which are believed to have curative and restorative powers.

It is easy to take the train from Montecatini Terme directly to Florence, about a 1 hour train ride.


Be sure to visit Montecatini Alto, a tiny village above Montecatini Terme reached by an old fashioned funicular (cable car) that slowly makes is way up the mountainside as you enjoy looking down at Montecatini Terme below.


For fancier fare and equally amazing views, a short drive or about a 45 minute hike is La Foresteria restaurant perched at the top of Monsummano Alto where you can savor fine Tuscan cuisine and spectacular views over the valley.


Many other interesting hikes in the area as well as wineries, wine shops, countryside restaurants, olive mill where fresh olive oil is pressed during the fall harvest season and a leather factory. Plenty to do year-round but in summer there are many local fairs and antiques markets within a 30-60 minute drive.

The views from the property are spectacular, stretching out over the valley overlooking Montecatini Terme. 


Interior

There is space for everyone. On the ground floor are two living room/lounges, a TV room and a billiards room.


There are two dining rooms, one seats 16 and the other that seats 8. There is a large kitchen with another dining table, it is well equipped for cooking and dining. A second, smaller, kitchen is also fully equipped.


The house if fully modernized but has retained charming original rustic aspects and enhanced by many pieces of antique furniture. 


One the first floor there is a lounge and a TV room each with a sofa bed that can accommodate 2 people each.

Accessibility/Security: Two story, 16 steps between floors plus several additional internal steps in several bedrooms.

Payment: Upon reserving, 30% of the total rent is non-refundable.

€800 damage deposit, refundable less damages, paid in cash on arrival or preauthorized to a credit card.

€350 final cleaning paid in cash on arrival.

A/C and heating paid locally at check out.

Booking Period: High and Mid-season rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Shorter stays that fall between Saturdays may be possible upon request for other seasons, contact our reservations team for a price quote.

Services & Extras: Weekly stays include welcome basket with light dinner on arrival, continental breakfast for the first morning, 3 hour midweek cleaning & bathroom towel change.

Check In/Out: Check in 4:00pm to 7:00pm, by appointment. Check out 10am.

Regina Bella Review

Our family of 13 arrived in the late afternoon and found the villa beautiful, well appointed and very clean. There are three staircases that led to different parts of the house-all completely detached from one another. My 82 year old mother was able to reach her bedroom, aided by a handrail on her steps and the children's rooms were far enough away to the adult's rooms to ensure quiet evenings. Sheets on the beds were wonderful and all said beds were comfy. We all enjoyed long walks up and down the nearby hills, the mass in an ancient church closeby, as well as dinner at La Foresteria, a truly magical spot near the church overlooking a bluff. We were the only diners and adored the dinner and service. All in all, our week was magical and the location was perfect. The funnicular ride up to Montecatini Alto was one of our favorite excursions. Our chefs were the daughter and son in law of the owners. The food was fine but not amazing. We didn’t use much air conditioning but it was, as advised, billed separately. All of the extra charges were collected in cash on check out. We were short so had to run around. Celebrated spa town since before Roman times. Many nice options for day trips, dining, music and sports including the funicular to the old town at the top of the hill, gardens, butterfly park, Pinocchio park, horse racing, film fest.
Lucca (34 km Distance)
Famous for its medieval wall that encircles the city, a wonderful walk or bike ride. Wander the streets to see the piazza that was a roman amphitheater where emperors met. Good dining and shopping.
Florence airport (40 km Distance)
Amerigo Vespucci Airport/Peretola airport, small international airport quite close to the city centery. Code: FLR
