The Valley of the Mists Abounds with Activities for the Whole Family

Find yourself in the beautiful countryside within an easy drive or train ride (40 minutes) of the main city of Tuscany, Florence. Some of the most lovely lesser cities of Tuscany are even closer: Lucca and Pisa. These cities are lovely with economies based mostly on tourism, where the smaller and even closer cities such as Montecatini Terme, Pistoia and Pescia, rich in art and history, bring you closer to real Tuscan life and culture.

Montecatini and Monsummmano, the closest towns, have been known for their hot springs since antiquity and were developed during the last half of the 1700s as destinations for nobility to enjoy the waters for their health.

Montecatini Alto, the original village in the area is reached from Montecatini Terme on the oldest funicular in the world. Your destination is a classic medieval fortified town with defensive walls, a wealth of 25 towers, church, convent and a piazza with restaurants. A great outing.

Small museums abound in the area. Consider a brief museum visit in one of the little villages, followed by a nice lunch in the piazza. The contemporary art museum in Monsumano offers a collection that includes Pietro Annigoni. Several small museums such as the History of Farming, Territorial Museum, Paper Museums, Castle and Archaeology Museum of Larciano, the Museum Natural Science and Archaeology of Pescia, the Museum of Religious Art in Massa and the Open-air Museum of Serravalle Pistoiese all give you a chance for brief and interesting visits in the little towns in the Valley of the Mists.

The town of Collodi, home of Pinocchio, is a short drive where there is a cheerful park with loads of great and amusing art and activities for the whole family, puppet shows, a butterfly house and nearby a classic and monumental villa and garden that is impressive for fountains and gardens, the Garzoni gardens.

Loved the Villa Panorama

by Linda C

The Panorama was just what I was looking for in Italy. My group of 4 couples had more than enough space to enjoy the views and pool. The kitchen and back patio were the best part, as we spent lots of time preparing and eating delicious food. We had a Birthday Party prepared by the Chef that was wonderful. Our Host was amazing! Pat at Italy Perfect was a great resource as well. Can’t wait for our next trip with the Perfect Group

Thoroughly Enjoyed Panorama

by KLWATL

The eight members of my party thoroughly enjoyed our time at Panorama. Several of us have rented villas in Italy before from different agencies and found Panorama to be the most spacious for a large party, with five bedrooms and five baths The kitchen was well stocked with plates, flatware, glassware and pots, which we put to great use during a cooking class. The view from the patio towards Montecatini Terme is breathtaking, It is also easy to visit nearby towns, including Massa, Cozzile, Montecatini Terme, Lucca and Pistoia. The contact person at the villa met us promptly upon arrival, explained the appliances, and was a great resource for restaurant recommendations and even a doctor when one of us needed medical attention. We had great meals at Trattoria de Valentino in Malocchio and Trattoria da Nerone in Pescia. I highly recommend the villa and Italy Perfect. [We are delighted to hear you had such a wonderful time at Panorama! We hope to welcome you back in the near future. The Italy Perfect Team]

Enjoyable Week

by Ford

Villa Panorama lived up to our expectations and we had a most enjoyable week there. It has excellent facilities with more than enough room for a group of 8 to 10 people. I would highly recommend it. That said I have high expectations for such a place given the cost and these were not met in several small ways. This comes from not ensuring that over time all facilities are maintained to a high standard. Examples: insufficient wine glasses (attended to immediately by the manager); terrible pillows; no toiletries at all; light above the stove out etc. My main concern was that the English speaking greeter was not there to greet us, instead a lovely gentleman who spoke no English. It must be realised that travellers spend huge money on these places and look forward to the stay immensely. If it is not “perfect” especially on arrival then the enjoyment of the stay is diminished.Fix these little things up and Villa P would be outstanding. I would highly recommend Italy Perfect. [Thank you very much for your review. We are delighted you had an enjoyable week. We are so sorry that the English speaking manager had an unexpected and last-minute true emergency and had to send someone who didn’t speak English. As you wrote before, she was there the next day and organized everything for you. The Italy Perfect Team]

Large, Comfortable, Incredible Views

by Anonymous

We loved our holiday at the Panorama house. The house was large and comfortable with incredible views which surrounded the villa. It location was close to major cities as well as small towns which were easy day trips. The manager to the house was very helpful as well. Italy Perfect made booking our family holiday a breeze, which was enjoyed by the grandparents down to the toddlers. We highly recommend this villa for a memorable family vacation as well as Italy Perfect.[We are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]

Beautiful, View Incredible, Grounds Lovely

by Plastic Surgeon

The Villa was beautiful and very adequate for our needs. The only minor negative is that it is on three levels and without elevator, so baggage and everything else needs to be carried up the stairs. The view is incredible an the grounds are lovely. The service from Italy Perfect is perfect, Pat is extremely helpful and very responsive. I rate her five stars plus! [Thank you so much, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]
