A world of romance awaits at Austen, a beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the heart of upmarket Kensington where refined living meets an inviting literary style. Main sights on your doorstep include Hyde Park, which is just a 10-minute walk away - pack up a picnic or go to one of the fabulous music events such as British Summer Time. Take in the Portobello Road Market, peruse the antiques and take your own London memento home or visit the stunning Kensington Palace and Gardens.


Once inside, Austen is perfectly accommodating and is well-appointed with a light-filled dining area, spacious living room and a modern kitchen that will meet all your needs. The living area doubles as an additional sleeping space, with a sofa that can easily be transformed into two beds. The nearby dining nook is a perfect spot to soak up the lush green park views while enjoying a home-cooked meal.


The neighboring kitchen is filled with good sense and sensibility, as the cabinets hide the refrigerator and dishwasher out of plain sight. Fully stocked with all the little appliances a culinary fan needs come dinnertime. For practicality, the hallway hides both a desk/study nook area - an ideal spot to set up a laptop - and also a laundry cupboard.


There are two bedrooms in Austen: bedroom 1 with a comfortable bed and private en suite bathroom and bedroom 2 with a useful wall of built-in wardrobes and two high-quality beds that can be combined to form one bed. Both bedrooms are lovely retreats with sunny windows to overlook the posh Kensington city streets below. The communal garden at the apartment would do Miss Jane Austen proud, with an assortment of secluded benches, brightly colored phlox and other flowers, and quiet natural green alcoves. While the Austen is located on a small residential street, it's just a few blocks away from a host of prestigious pubs, restaurants, shops and attractions. Bathroom: In bathroom 2, the toilet can make noise when flushed, which is normal for an electric toilet. Please DO NOT flush anything other than toilet paper down the electric toilet as it will cause damages to the motor. Guests will be responsible for the replacement of the motor due to negligence.

Terrific!

We had a wonderful stay at Austen in Kensington. My three daughters and I went on a girls' trip to London and the location at Austen was perfect. The apartment was clean, neat and had plenty of linens and closet space. Coming from the USA, we found the second bedroom a bit cramped, but we realize that European homes are much more compact than what we are used to. The bathrooms were good with plenty of hot water. One of the living room chairs had a broken leg and was unusable, and one of the dining area shades did not work properly. Otherwise, the apartment was perfect for our needs. The London Perfect staff was great at arrival, and their suggestion for transportation to/from the airport was spot on - Lushi and Ricky made it so easy. We will definitely book through Vacation Perfect again!

Perfect set up for our family including three young adults/teens. Easy access to the tube, but we mainly walked everywhere. Even in the middle of the national rail strike we were perfectly located to walk to nearby attractions- HIGHLY recommend Portobello Market! Apartment kitchen is well appointed with every appliance, dish, and pot needed. We arrived at the tail end of the heat wave and were pleasantly surprised a portable a/c unit had been set up for us. We booked the car service and several recommended tours through LP - all great adventures without any hiccups! We appreciated the communication with all the LP employees checking in to ensure we were settled in and enjoying our vacation. This is our second vacation with this company (London and Paris), and their luxury apartment accommodations have been perfect for our family!

This was our first time using Perfect Rentals and it exceeded expectations. We had the most wonderful stay at the Austen property! As a family of 5, there was enough space for us all to sleep comfortably and enjoy the living spaces during the day. The flat is well appointed and has everything you would need to truly feel like you live in London. The garden out back is also a great bonus, especially with kids. It is centrally located to shops, restaurants, transportation, and a few minutes to Hyde Park. We will absolutely use London Perfect for our next visit!

We come to London frequently and have rented many flats through the years. The Austen is definitely among our favorites! The flat itself is comfortable and casually elegant, with lovely interior design and a huge south facing series of windows in the sitting room/dining room that floods the place with light. The flat was very well stocked with everything we needed. There are several flights of stairs but the stair rise is low so they are easy to ascend and descent (one of us has a tricky knee and had no problems). The location is superb - our favorite in London - easy access to several wonderful London parks, two underground stations with many route options, as well as many bus stop just a minute walk away. Lots of great shops and restaurants in the area including Sally Clarke just a few minutes' walk - excellent artisan bakery and food shop with high quality pre -made foods. M&S food hall (our favorite grocery store in the area) and Whole Foods are a few minutes' walk. Also don’t miss Candella, our favorite casual place for afternoon tea (it’s a tiny place just around the corner, recommend booking as there are only a few tables), and Dishoom, an amazing casual Indian restaurant that is just off Kensington High Street. We highly recommend the Austen and will definitely stay there again during future visits!

In fact, the only downside to the Austen is the stairs. As always, the staff are attentive and quick to respond. We had a mini medical emergency this trip, and London Perfect arranged for us to get the help we needed very quickly. The greeters, especially Sax and Ed, were wonderfully helpful.

We really enjoyed the Austen apartment during our time in London. We decided to stay for 9 nights are we were grateful to have a comfortable place to stay. The location was perfect for our family. We were close to parks, the Tube and Whole Foods. My kids really enjoyed walking to Portabello Market. The Tube station has 2 lines that make it easy to maneuver around. The flat is on the 3rd floor but worth the walk up. The nicely decorated living space allowed us to spread out and entertain friends while we stayed. There is a beautiful garden area you can enjoy (access is around the corner). I would recommend this apartment to families visiting London. We felt like we got the true Londoner experience. The welcome guide, Will, was very helpful and made great suggestions on travelling around the city.

This is a charming comfortable apartment that is very well located off Kensington Church Street between the Notting Hill and Kensington High Street tube stops. There are shops and restaurants all around. The only thing to be aware of is that it is on the third floor (US) and there are many steps to walk up. I recommend it.

We stayed at this beautiful flat during Holy week. This flat provided a quiet oasis from the huge crowds at the tourist sites during the holiday week. The photos are very accurate, as this was a bright and comfortable flat for our family of 4. The courtyard gardens were lovely with the Spring flowers, and that apartment is well-located, as it is halfway between the Notting Hill Gate and Kensington High Street tube stops, so it was easy to get to virtually all of the normal tourist destinations. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs, pastry shops, and markets within walking distance. It was also nice to be so close to Kensington Palace and Gardens and Hyde Park, which provide nice opportunities for long strolls or jogs, and we were able to walk to Royal Albert Hall one night for a concert.

London Perfect was an amazing company to work with; incredibly professional and exceptionally thorough from arranging a car service to picking us up at the airport, to providing details for WiFi access, to offering a wide variety of children's DVDs and picture books for our 3 year old, to listing suggestions for restaurants in the neighborhood, to booking a private tour guide. The location of the Austen was central and very convenient for getting anywhere we wanted to. London Perfect made our vacation completely hassle and stress free and the fact that the Austen felt like home made our vacation that much more special. Just a quick note to thank you for a great week in London, despite what we can charitably call "changeable" weather (but that is part of the charm?). We are not especially frequent users of your services, but we are long time clients, both in London and Paris, and this visit was just as pleasurable as previous ones. No surprises with the apartment - which is a good thing - except that the light and views afforded by the massive bay window in the eating area were even better than anticipated. Also want to commend you on basic logistics - Lushi drivers, greeter and office support - everything went very smoothly. I hope we can indeed return someday…

We were overall very happy with our choice of apartment. Really good location, beautiful view overlooking the communal garden from the drawing room. A bit disappointed with the size of the master bathroom and the second room. Our family stayed at the Austen in January 2015. It was a wonderful experience! The flat is beautiful and exactly what we imagined when we envisioned a London flat. It was beautifully appointed and easily accommodated our family of 5. The location is perfect for quick access to the Tube and major attractions. The neighboorhood had so much to offer with dining, shopping and we were within walking distance to Kenningston Palace. I cannot say enough about the customer service of London Perfect. They left no detail outt!,! We had a greeter to walked us through thr apartment and when we did encounter a problem they worked to quickly resolve. If would highly recommend this company!! We had the pleasure of staying in this pretty newly renovated Flat over the New Year period for 10 days. The Austin is extremely well appointed with all the luxuries from home. It is a very spacious 2 bed Flat with lots of natural light streaming in. Particularly from the living/dining room side which overlooks the prettiest private park which as a guest of the Austin you are allowed to use. So well located to transport and an easy walk to Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. We didn't want to leave the Austin.

I had a wonderful weeklong stay at the Austen apartment in September. The apartment is well located in the Kensington and I took advantage of the location. Every day I would start my day with breakfast sitting in the dining area that overlooked the private park in the apartment complex. Then I would take a walk through Kensington Park before heading out to the city for my tourist activities. Seeing London with the Austen as my base was effortless as there are numerous bus stops and two tube stops within easy walking distance. Returning to the apartment after spending most of the day touring was always a pleasure. The apartment is spacious, bright and comfortable. I enjoy cooking and appreciated having a well-stocked kitchen so I could make many of my meals in the apartment during my stay. I spent one day just relaxing at the apartment and walking around the neighborhood. There are wonderful restaurants, bakeries and shops within a short walk. Spending an entire day at the apartment and the neighborhood was a great respite from all of the other activities I did during my stay. The Austen is a gem and I would stay there again when I am in London.
